International Women’s Day in 2024 had a theme of “inspire inclusion”.
Gender equality in the North East has seen improvements in recent years. There are now more female MPs in the region than male (12 compared to 10) and three of the North East’s seven council leaders are women.
Sarah Slaven, Managing Director of Business Durham has been named on the list, alongside Amanda Hopgood, Leader of Durham County Council and multiple other aspirational women across Durham and the wider North East region.
